The NATO Allied Joint Operations Commander pointed out that China is actively subverting the international order in Europe and Africa, and NATO cannot continue to ignore China’s expansion in Europe.

The commander of the NATO Allied Joint Operations Command and the commander of the US Navy’s European-African Theater, Admiral James G. Foggo, made the above statement when he participated in the British International Strategy Institute webinar on the 26th.

Admiral Fogg believes that China’s expansion has extended from the Indo-Pacific region to Europe, Africa and the Arctic, and that the unsafe interception of aircraft and ships on the ground has posed a threat to local countries. China has also established an overseas military base in the Horn of Africa and is trying to control other ports.

Admiral Fogel pointed out that China's "Belt and Road" initiative plan combines economic, diplomatic, military and political means to try to change the rules-based international order, which is the pillar of world peace after World War II. China provides financial assistance to countries such as Africa, and uses this assistance to influence local governments.
Foge said that China strictly controlled domestic information during the New Corona Virus epidemic and tried to expand its influence in Europe.
Ferge said that the world has changed dramatically in the past twelve years. U.S. government officials may have envisaged cooperation with China and Russia ten years ago, but Russia later annexed Crimea of   Ukraine, China began to build islands in the South China Sea and the East China Sea, and China and Russia began to strengthen their troops. Launch cyber attacks on other countries and even intervene in the politics of other countries.

Fogg said, "China even claims to be a "near Arctic country", making the situation in the Arctic opening new sea passages increasingly complex.

Foge emphasized that "NATO can no longer continue to ignore China's activities in Europe." NATO's collective strength "let us confidently believe that in this era of great power competition, there is no competition that we can't serve.
