Turkey faces sanctions under a 2017 law known as CAATSA, which commands sanctions for any "huge" acquisition of weapons from Russia. A year ago, the US suspended Turkey from its F-35 fly program. During a visit to Turkey prior this month, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg repeated that the framework couldn't be coordinated into the coalition's air and rocket protection framework.
